The intent of the Law Enforcement Cadet Program is to educate the youth in police operations, to interest them in possible law enforcement careers, and to build a mutual understanding. This program also allows for a cadet to gain the necessary life and leadership skills to carry them to a successful future.

The education aspect provides knowledge of the law enforcement function whether the participant enters policing or not. Through involvement, the law enforcement cadet program establishes awareness of the complexities of police service. At the same time the Law Enforcement Cadet Program provides helpful services to the community.
